Charity Silent Auction Deadline August 15
Alaska Waste, the Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce, and Blaine’s Art teamed up to create a new event at Bear Paw Festival this year. The event, The Art of Trash was designed to showcase local artists and benefit local charities.
Four dumpsters were staged at the Bear Paw Festival and four local artists, Debbie Dubac, Jason Johnson, Justin Parsons and Kimberley Sikora each painted original pieces. Justin and Jason used spray paint to create their scenes, and Kimberley and Debbie used traditional brushes to compose their Alaskan pieces. After the Bear Paw onsite text-to-vote ended, votes were tallied, and prizes were awarded to the artists.
Our next goal is to place these uniquely painted dumpsters around Anchorage, and to help local charities.
If you are interested in one of these dumpsters, please cast a bid in our silent auction via email and include:
- The dumpster you are bidding on.
- The charity you will donate to.
- The amount you will donate.
- Your contact information via phone and email.
Bids must be received by 5PM on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. We will contact the winners, and once each one shows proof of their charity donation, Alaska Waste will deliver their dumpster. These dumpsters may be used for new or existing trash service, new or existing recycling service, or used as a point of interest display.
And, The Art of Trash event will conclude with Alaska Waste donating to each of the winners’ charity choice. Thanks to everyone who participated.
